Right after the welcoming ceremony, Ms Iya Diza was given a brief school trip by principal Ms Mutiara Mira during which the institution’s core belief in student-focused learning was shared.
The tour of the study centre was concluded by Ms Iya Diza’s quick meeting with the Head of Centre and Academic Manager of Jakarta Academics College, Mr Sam Fulzele, Co-founder of the college, Ms Indriani, and principal, Ms Mutiara Mira before the event. A thoughtful conversation on shared vision took place between Ms Iya Diza and the senior team of JAC.
The first session of the event was a virtual taster class attending participants both physically and virtually. JAC’s students currently pursuing their IGCSE and A Level qualifications were present onsite while external participants joined the taster class online. These virtual participants were both parents and students including a group of high-school students from Jogja, Indonesia (a city in Indonesia) accompanied by their Economics teacher. The taster class offered an opportunity to learn about investing in Cryptocurrency and NFTs which ended with a brief but interactive Q&A session about investing in Crypto.
As students were also excited to learn about Massey University, Ms Iya Diza did an excellent job of presenting university information to the students. All of the key information such as campuses, courses, entry requirements, scholarship options, etc were included in the presentation. Ms Iya Diza developed very good communication to answer the questions coming from students and teachers.
A concluding session included the warm exchange of souvenirs between Ms Iya Diza and JAC’s cofounder Ms Indriani. Before leaving the session, students gave positive feedback about their experience at the event and showed interest in learning more about Massey University. All of JAC’s teachers and staff had some memorable photos and informal discussions with Ms Iya DIz which showed a willingness to build a very long-term relationship between both sides.
